Varme Energy

Why Varme

Waste is a significant contributor to climate change.

Landfills account for 16% of global methane emissions, and that contribution is only growing. Methane is a greenhouse gas 86x more potent than carbon dioxide over a 20-year period. The EU is leading the way in reducing landfills, with its directive stating a landfill target of maximum 10% by 2035 for all its member states.

Reducing, reusing and recycling are the preferred alternatives for treating our waste - although sometimes difficult. No matter how good we get at the first three R’s - there will be waste left behind.

We eliminate future landfills and produce clean energy.

    Environmentally and financially attractive solution

Varme is building a global asset portfolio of Waste-to-Energy facilities with integrated carbon capture and storage, eliminating landfills and enabling the sustainable solution for non-recyclable waste.

Waste-to-Energy facilities are attractive infrastructure assets with a solid track record of delivering strong financial returns. Steady, long-term contracts for revenue and expenses create high cash flow visibility for each facility, driving the appetite for larger infrastructure capital around the world.

Each of Varme's facilities has three main revenue sources: waste on the front end, and energy and carbon on the back end, allowing us to create value at all parts of the process.

Waste-to-Energy is a financially attractive landfill elimination solution. As global citizens, we’re currently paying for the right to create permanent landfills. At no extra cost to citizens, Varme can eliminate landfills.
